On Sunday, 4 August 2024, the Assyrian National Council of Australia Inc. (ANCA) and The Young Assyrians (TYA) held a solemn ceremony to commemorate Assyrian Martyrs Day. The event took place at the Assyrian Genocide Monument, a revered site that stands as a testament to the resilience and enduring spirit of the Assyrian people.

On Thursday, 25 July, Ms. Breteil Tigris David, President of The Young Assyrians (TYA), attended a special luncheon hosted by Her Excellency the Honourable Ms. Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

The Young Assyrians (TYA) expresses deep concerns regarding Türkiye’s military operations and incursions into northern Iraq. These actions, primarily targeting the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)— designated as a terrorist group by Ankara and several Western allies —are putting innocent lives as well as the region’s infrastructure at risk.
